Make your profile private

Your public profile is visible by default. You can hide it in Settings. You can still use your own profile and achievements while signed in.

Hide your profile

1. Open Settings.
2. Choose Public profile.
3. Turn off Show my public profile.
4. Wait for the saved status. The page shows Public profile hidden after the change succeeds.

The visibility switch saves its own change. It is separate from the Profile section's Save changes button.

What visitors see

Visitors see that your profile is private. Your public profile and achievement share pages are hidden. People with an old share link cannot view the public achievement while your profile is hidden.

This setting controls your public profile. Do not treat it as a promise to remove your username from every other public SomHack surface, such as a leaderboard.

Your display name and email stay private whether your profile is shown or hidden.

Show it again

Return to Settings → Public profile and turn on Show my public profile. Wait for Public profile enabled.

The same section has an activity-map switch. It controls whether your activity map is shown on your public profile. You can still see your own activity.
